As part of a massive redevelopment program currently underway, Ocean Park Hong Kong is constructing a new Grand Aquarium to replace its existing aging aquarium facility.

The Australian company Advanced Aquarium Technologies (AAT), has been contracted to provide aquarium specialist life support design and construction services for the Grand Aquarium, with Aquatic Environmental Systems (AES) and Crossley Architects providing the necessary design and documentation.

Crossley Architects have prepared the necessary architectural design, modification and documentation to accommodate the alternative life support design and construct works to be completed by AAT into the aquarium building designed by AEDAS of Hong Kong.

The Grand Aquarium is currently under construction by Leighton Asia, and is due for completion late 2009. The completed aquarium will be dominated by a central tank of approximately 4 million litres exhibiting Whale Sharks.
