Cam’s architectural design is strongly influenced by his previous artistic career and is complemented by a practical approach to liveability, environment, material and structure. The practice of architecture is a passionate obsession.

His architectural career has been dominated by aquarium and oceanarium related projects both in Australia and internationally. This specialised field grew from his extensive involvement (commencing in 1987) with the multi-award winning aquarium and tourism based project, Underwater World, Mooloolaba.

This specialised field of architectural design draws together many diverse elements, public architecture, dynamic interiors, creating true ‘living’ habitats, severe engineering and structural requirements, ‘experience’ based interior design, complex life support systems, theatrical lighting and special effects, dramatic viewing concepts using engineered acrylic panel and tunnel technology, artificial environment replication and construction, themed exhibit, graphic, interpretive and multimedia design.

The unusual, complex yet delightful nature of these projects has been the source of extraordinary range of architectural, artistic and life experiences and continues to be an ongoing inspiration for his work.
